The Chinese New Year is fast approaching and this would
make a great gift for anyone with ties to this celebration.
This Giant Panda is a great beginner project for those who
want to try their hand at using the Inking and Rouging
technique.
The panda is sitting and munching on his favorite  food,
which  of course, is bamboo.  John Green has captured the
cuddly look of the panda, which we associate with this animal.

This “Tropical” floral that Maureen McNaughton has

wonderful foil for the “white” hibiscus flowers and the

Would you like to improve your brush control?
Strokework is the answer and this is the project for you.
Not overwhelming in size but lots of practice.

I have painted the design on a bar stool seat but it would
look great on a lazy- susan, round wooden plate, or even
a painted doily on a night stand or similar table.

The design is 7 1/2 inches wide so be sure your project
piece is large enough to accommodate the pattern with sufficient border.  The designer, Arlene Linton paints almost all of her lace patterns using only 1 brush, a Scharff  Series 3000 Kolinsky Sable Round (4). Your supply list will include some alternate brushes that may be used to obtain similar effect.

Whether you have painted Maureen McNaughton’s  other

Perhaps the best story of a Swan is the Ugly Duckling.
The Swan is featured strongly in Greek Mythology.
The best known is Swan Lake.  The Swans are a symbol of
love and fidelity because of their long lasting monogamous relationships. This project was designed by Shelley Prior
and was a pleasure to paint!
