About Us

FCDA was established in 1983. Its primary purpose is to teach traditional and new techniques in the decorative painting field. This consists primarily of acrylic, oil and watercolour mediums however, other art forms are also taught (portraits, scratch art, coloured pencil, etc.)

We are very fortunate to have our own painting room at the East Lions Artisans Centre at 1731 Churchill Ave., London, Ontario. FCDA and other artisans groups who use the Artisans Building are automatically members of Artisans London. This facility gives us the freedom to schedule classes and seminars at our discretion.

FCDA executive is elected on an annual basis by the membership. There are 3 General Meetings plus 2 socials per year for the members. As well, there are 3 Open House Registration sessions per year. These take place in September, January and May. Members and others are invited to view class project pieces and register for classes. Qualified teachers provide a wide variety of projects in many mediums for all levels of painters. Each session has classes for beginner painters (no experience necessary!) Seminars with guest artists are also arranged to expand the skill levels of our members.

Membership period for FCDA is September to August and includes three newsletters, an opportunity to network with other painters in a class setting.
